While Siri suggestions can be handy for adding events, further reading, or upcoming actions, the feature isn’t for everyone. We’ll show you how to turn off Siri suggestions on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Turn Off Siri Suggestions on iPhone and iPad
To disable Siri suggestions on iPhone and iPad, you can turn them off completely or only for specific apps.
- Open the Settings and select Siri & Search.
- In the Content From Apple and Suggestions From Apple sections, turn off the toggles for the suggestions you no longer want to receive.
- To disable suggestions for specific apps, move down to the list of apps and choose one.
- Turn off the toggle for Learn from this App or fine-tune the settings by disabling the toggles in the Suggestions section.
- Tap the arrow on the top left to go back.
- Continue this process for additional apps in the list.
If you decide later to take advantage of Siri suggestions again, you can reverse the above steps by turning the toggles back on.
Turn Off Siri Suggestions on Mac
Like on your iPhone and iPad, you can turn off Siri suggestions on your Mac in just a few steps.
- Open the System Settings using the icon in the Dock or Apple icon in the menu bar.
- On the left side of the pop-up window, select Siri & Spotlight.
- On the right, select Siri Suggestions & Privacy.
- In the subsequent window, choose an app in the list on the left.
- Turn off the toggle for Show Siri Suggestions in application.
- Continue this process for additional apps and select Done when you finish.
You can then close the System Settings window using the X on the top left.
To turn Siri suggestions on your Mac back on again if you change your mind later, follow these same steps to re-enable the feature.
