Hi there,

I just bought a new MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard.  The problem I'm having is that it seems to loose it's smb connection to my NAS after a while.  I not sure exactly what the timing of this is but for example, if I mount the volumes in the evening then put my Macbook to sleep, in the morning the volumes will be inaccessible. The NAS still shows, and what ever volumes that are mounted appear in Finder however they'll never refresh and I'm not really connected to them.  I also can't unmount the volumes either in Finder or using Terminal and umount.  I can't do a successful reboot either as Finder "hangs" and the system never shuts down gracefully, I have to power it off.  The funny thing is I'm running Windows XP in a VM session and the same NAS connections in the VM session are fine.

This isn't a problem with my wife's MacBook or my iMac, both of those are running Leopard, 10.6 I believe, they aren't handy for me to check that for sure.

Anyone else having a problem like this?  It's very annoying, I don't like the idea have having to power my MacBook off because I forget to eject the volumes.  I'll have to try leaving it powered up overnight and see if I have the same issue or if it occurs only after a sleep cycle.

Thanks in advance for any assistance or ideas!

Cheers,

Mike
